Performer Denies Anti-Vaxxer Position Following Lending His Voice To Disputed Coronavirus Documentary

Liam Neeson has given his narration to a new documentary that challenges the safety of vaccines and praises one-time health official RFK Jr.

The Feature's Disputed Basis

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was a result of a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

Her co-author, a producer, has also written books with far-right media personality the Infowars host. He took to social media celebrating Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Rebuttal

A spokesperson for the actor have issued a comment pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-vax views.

"Everyone can acknowledge that misconduct may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be confused with opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "He is not, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the UN children's agency highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

It continued that the actor had no hand in the project's editorial content and that inquiries about its claims should be directed to the producers.

According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson features several strong statements:

• It declares that "science has become dangerously politicized."

The film includes a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the focus of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to change its official position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a new report from the World Health Organisation reiterating no evidence has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Contrasting the film's message, Neeson has previously shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Previously, he called vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."

The documentary ends with Neeson's script saying, "This isn't the finish of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
