Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their initial World Series after the 1993 season by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the seventh seventh game of the ALCS.

Behind 3-1, Springer smashed a three-run home run in the seventh, leading the Toronto squad in MLB to a four games to three victory in the seven-game series. Next up are the defending champions, who are the reigning title, in the forthcoming World Series.

"It's incredible for our team, our city, our country," said Springer, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now connected for 23 total October home runs, ranking him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another player anywhere that I want up in that moment other than him with his playoff prowess," said manager John Schneider.

Seattle's team, who had led the early in the series, are still the one club never to appear in a World Series.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it hurts" after his side's defeat at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance throughout the year.

"It's a special team. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the wrong side of this game," he continued.

Toronto claimed the World Series on both previous visits in the early 90s, and are set to host the Dodgers in the first game on Friday.
