This online marketplace has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments but did not contact every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Response Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the updated approach better aligns with similar services. The platform has recommended to examine their items and manually change the size if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Modifications Previously, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: earlier, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
